Amelia O’Relly, founder of How to Breast Cancer, has made it her life’s mission to create a platform to serve as the definitive breast cancer guide with easy-to-use tools and practices for successfully navigating a breast cancer journey and to shine a light on ways to enrich the patient experience. In her true pioneering and determined sprit, O’Relly is hosting a gala at The Ray Hotel on Saturday, October 8, 2022 to raise awareness on support needed for a better patient experience and to recognize a leader in the field.

A unique combination of awareness, recognition and entertainment are slated for the evening which will feature key speakers, awards presentation, top musical talent, and an exciting auction. Proceeds will benefit Living Beyond Breast Cancer (LBBC), which received a 4-star rating from Charity Navigator, the highest possible ranking for financial health and accountability. LBBC provides trusted information and a community of support with on-demand emotional, practical, and evidence-based content that is meaningful to those newly diagnosed, in treatment, post-treatment, and living with metastatic disease. We will also honor Zeina Nahleh, MD, Department Chair, Hematology-Oncology, The Cleveland Clinic, Florida with the Patient Experience Medal of Excellence.

“Since beginning my own breast cancer journey in 2019, it has been my intention and sole focus to take all of my direct learnings as a patient and my corporate executive experience to create a platform that can drive positive change for anyone navigating a cancer journey. I believe How to Breast Cancer can serve as a guide and a powerful force to dramatically improve the patient experience. We want to bring empowerment to patients and create greater awareness in the medical community for more supportive methods to managing the journey. From access to the best information, so that patients can be well-able to understand their options, to the actual successful steps they take along the journey, and the ability for customized care (especially for those living with metastatic breast cancer). These are areas of cancer treatment that still need significant attention,” O’Relly explained.  “lt is an honor to support LBBC and recognize the exemplary work of Dr. Zeina Nahleh. I’m also extremely grateful to our sponsors and those that have committed to supporting this important event.”

Platinum Sponsors of the gala include The Cleveland Clinic FL, Citrix, and Daiichi Sankyo, who have all pledged financial support. Gold Sponsors include Boca Magazine, Spodak Dental, PurLife Fitness, Amanda Perna Designs, Pharaoun Jewelers, and Joseph’s. Additional sponsors are underway.

Taking place during National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and in support of enriching the breast cancer patient experience, guests can purchase tickets to the gala and make donations through the Givebutter event page. Sponsors wishing to make a monetary or product donation can contact Amy Berkowitz at amy@ready-2-launch.com.
