Below Deck alum Rhylee Gerber shares her recent breast explant surgery experience. She reveals that one implant had completely ruptured.

Below Deck alum Rhylee Gerber shared with fans that she recently underwent surgery to remove her breast implants after one ruptured. Rhylee first appeared in Below Deck season 6 as a deckhand. The Alaskan native had experience working on fishing boats, but it was her first time on a motor yacht. She impressed Captain Lee Rosbach and her peers with her hard work ethic, but the fiery redhead often challenged her male counterparts when she felt they were disrespecting her. Rhylee often butted heads with deckhand Ashton Pienaar, who was just as opinionated as her.

Rhylee returned to Below Deck midway through season 7 to replace Abbi Murphy, who had quit to reunite with her fiancé. Ashton was serving as a bosun this time, which meant Rhylee had to answer to him. Although Rhylee went into the season with good intentions, she and Ashton kept rubbing each other the wrong way. Ashton spoke to Captain Lee to see about having her fired, but he was told to work out his issues with Rhylee. Captain Lee spoke to Rhylee separately and ordered her to show Ashton respect as her boss. Despite trying to work cohesively together, Rhylee could not hold back her feelings about Ashton and declared she never wanted to work with him again.

Two weeks ago, Rhylee shared via her Instagram Story that she was going to have her breast implants removed and documented her journey leading up to the surgery. On Monday, the Below Deck star told fans that she was on her way to Dr. David Rankin’s office for the surgery. She revealed that one of her implants was completely ruptured and was leaking toxins into her body. She described feeling bloated, having “random sharp pains” and inflammation throughout her body. The Below Deck star believed that one implant had ruptured last year and her “scar tissue to the top left and right aided in keeping the toxins from spreading too quickly.”

Following the procedure, Rhylee showed her followers her left implant that she had taken home as a souvenir. She explained that the one from her right side “was just completely ruptured and leaking into [her] right breast capsule.” She showed a snap of her body post-surgery and captioned it, “Lots of swelling, bloating and back pain. Constipation from anesthesia and nerve blocker.” The Below Deck star explained that the “remaining natural breast tissue will fill out” and will keep the scarring at bay with various ointments. Rhylee described feeling relieved that the ruptured breast implant is out.

After her two seasons on Below Deck, Rhylee went back to Alaska to work on fishing boats again. After the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, she traveled the United States in a van. Rhylee, who is a big outdoor lover, utilized her hunting skills and started making jewelry out of bones and antlers. Although Rhylee was on Below Deck for only two seasons, many fans can’t forget the controversial deckhand and would love to see her back, hopefully working under a better bosun.
